Dennis Dixon (3rd String) Will Start Against Ravens 11/28
With Roethlisberger and Batch out, Dennis Dixon, the third string Quarterback will take the start on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Dixon with his second year in the NFL was drafted in the 5th round by the Steelers in 2007 from Oregon. Dennis originally signed with the Atlanta Braves to play baseball. He played one summer of rookie ball for the braves, and quit. Later he then was drafted by the Steelers. The third stringer has never started in an NFL game. But when the Steelers had no one else they turned to Dixon. Head Coach Mike Tomlin said that Dixon has been looking good in practice, and that they are going to let him pick the plays that he feels comfortable running. Though, the offensive line does expect to be seeing a lot blitzing with Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense trying to pressure Dixon and make him nervous. The O-line better come prepared and ready to block for this kid.
Injury Update 11/23
Last night, in an away game at the Kansas City Chiefs Ben Roethlisberger went down with a concussion in overtime; and Charlie Batch, the backup Quarterback, went in for Roethlisberger. Then later in the game Charlie Batch went out with a fractured wrist. They then lost 27-24 to the Chiefs in OT.
